Psycholytic Ketamine

Ketamine is an medical agent used to provide access to the unconscious mind. We all have vast stores of information in our unconscious that can aid us in living our fullest life. Unfortunately that access is often limited by the ego-centric conscious mind which concerns itself with simple, efficient solutions. Dependence on the conscious mind limits our access to the more complex, less readily knowable wisdom of unconcious. Ketamine softens the grip of the conscious mind and allows for the symbols and felt sense of the unconscious to become visible.

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that has been used for decades in medical practice for sedation in short surgerical procedures, as well as for pain relief. More recently medical research has found it to be very effective for treating depression and suicidality. And most recently Ketamine is now being used for inducing a trance-like state with psychedelic properties in order to relieve a variety of mental health issues. The psychedelic dissociative properties of Ketamine have also long been used recreationally to enhance and alter the users mental state.

In my practice I facilitate the use of Ketamine in an intentional and structured process to bring about new insights and interpretations of my clients’ life struggles. The active chatter of the conscious mind is paused and the deeper knowing surfaces. This process gives us access to valuable unconscious material which can then direct the course of change that will bring about my clients’ most full potential.
